York Downs Golf Country Club is a private 27 hole golf facility located in Unionville, Ontario. The facility has three, 9-hole courses. They are The South Nine, The West Nine, and The North Nine. These Nines can be combined to form 3 different 18-hole pairings.
York Downs opened in 1970. The course architects were Geoffrey Cornish and Bill Robinson. The course was renovated in 1996 by Thomas McBroom.
The West Course is the most challenging with tight, gently rolling fairways and numerous water hazards. The South Course is relatively flat, with the exception of hole #3, and is also the easiest of the three courses. The North Course features many elevation changes, with a majority of the tees and greens being elevated.
The signature hole is #3 on the South Course, a 500-yard, par 5, which features the tee box sitting seventy feet above the green. The fairway features a pond to the left and the course curves around the pond to a three-tiered, elevated green with a large sand bunker in front.
